Shower Retiling from Leak to Chic

A Stunning Biggera Waters AirBnB  Shower Transformation in Time for Guests

THE PROBLEM

A luxury AirBNB in Biggera Waters, Gold Coast, was up against the clock with a deceptive shower leak from the lineal drain, aesthetically pleasing but a common culprit of shower leaks. With Australia Day bookings looming, the Melbourne-based owner needed a quick, discreet fix to avoid disappointing guests.

THE CHALLENGE

We booked the job in as quickly as we could, but guests were due to check in within the week we started work. The race was on to complete the noisy, dusty task of demolition, plus waterproofing, and screeding before their arrival, all without sacrificing the property’s plush aesthetics. Balancing swift action with precision, keeping the work area tidy, and maintaining clear communication from a distance put our expertise and coordination to the test.

THE SOLUTION

We zeroed in on the essentials, removing just the shower floor and the first row of wall tiles to tackle the leak. This focused approach cut down on time and excess cost for the owner. Using top-tier epoxy grouting and a team of 3 including 2 generations of Italian tilers, we retiled and sealed the area replacing the shower screen and ensuring it was ready and welcoming for the guests. The project wrapped up with a sleek new shower, minimal disruption, and the owner’s peace of mind intact.
