FAQ’s

How do you detect tile leaks?2024-12-06T07:31:47+00:00

We use visual inspections to look for signs like mould, cracked/missing grout, cracked, loose or drummy tiles. We also use advanced thermal cameras and moisture meters to detect moisture levels underneath tiles on the floor and walls.

Can you determine a leak from photos?2024-12-06T07:31:54+00:00

We can often spot obvious signs of a leak from photos, like cracked grout or water stains. However, tiles can be misleading. Until we degrout and perform a more invasive inspection, it’s not always possible to determine if the waterproofing is compromised. In some cases, we might initially plan to seal, but after removing grout, we may find that tile removal is necessary to fix the underlying issue.

I think I have a leak in my plumbing. Can you help?2024-12-06T07:31:31+00:00

Yes, we conduct breach, flood, and dye tests to determine if the leak is coming from your plumbing system. These tests go beyond a standard tile inspection, allowing us to accurately identify plumbing issues and help you avoid further damage. There is an additional fee for these services, as they are not part of our free tile inspection. Once we determine the cause, we can recommend the appropriate repair options.
membrane is compromised, removing tiles is necessary for a proper fix

What is the process and cost of tile leak detection?2024-12-06T07:31:38+00:00

First, we perform a photo inspection to identify any visible signs of a leak. If no obvious signs are found, we send out a technician to do a moisture reading and onsite visual inspection. This service, along with a detailed report, is completely free. If further plumbing dye or pressure tests are needed, they are priced at $180+GST. If you proceed with retiling, we will credit this amount towards the cost of the retiles.
